The Rocketry Nut is a product that securely couples the two most important parts of your recovery system together - your recovery harness and your rocket. The Rocketry Nut combines the strength of an eyenut with the simplicity of a quick link. Put your looped harness in the recessed area, secure with the clevis pin and clip! It is designed for to be used with 11/32" and 3/8" kevlar harnesses with high power rockets.
Rocketry Nut Specifications
- Compact size - 5/8" hex and 1 inch long.
- 1/4-20 thread to connect to avionics bays or forward closures.
- Lightweight - 1.25 ounces.
- Easy installation - tighten the Rocketry Nut down with a wrench, then install your recovery harness and secure with the clevis pin and clip.
The Rocketry Nut can be used in multiple applications, for instance:
Avionics Bays: Install the Rocketry Nut on the all thread on your avionics bays for a simple and strong retention point.
Motor Retention: Install an allen head screw in the forward closure followed by a Rocketry Nut for no-nonsense motor retention.
Payloads: Install on your payload to secure to a recovery harness or separate parachute.
Nosecones: An easy way to secure your nosecone to your rocket.
Included with each Rocketry Nut is one machined brass anchor, one steel clevis pin and two cotter pins.
The Rocketry Nut installed on a 98mm (4") avionics bay. This 3/8" kevlar harness has a sewn loop, a tied loop also works well. The prefered knot for tying a loop is the bowline.
